    AT Section Hiker: NY-ME

    Hi Folks,

CT based 40 year old married dad of 2 (girls) looking for weekend/multi-day hiking partner. I'm looking to start banging out sections of the AT, (NY-ME) whenever the opportunity presents itself. Winter is not an issue.

Solo hikes are fine, but the wife much prefers I end the practice...

In the meantime, heading out the weekend of 2/11. Initial thought is Hoyt RD, CT/NY line to CT 341 Schaghticoke Rd, Kent. Stealth Camp. Roughly 11.25 miles. Nice and easy.

Though flexible for any part of NY and CT if anyone is free.

    Thanks,
    GG

I'm going to hike to Schaghticoke Mountain soon, probably weekend of 2/17-18 or 3/9-10.

Would love to start doing weekend or mid week AT hikes this late winter or spring.

Hope to get out in late February early March.
Have a commitment to my very experienced 77yr old hiking partner.
    Will check with him.

After NJ WinterHang want greatly to get back out.

I know what you mean G...Hawk. The NJ Winter Hang just made me want to get out even more (and I've been getting out plenty often). Since winter decided to avoid the Northeast this year, there's no reason not to get out!

I and a buddy are planning to do all of CT and 1/2 of MA in July... assuming that airfare doesn't double in the meantime...

G G (and any NY CT NJ Hangers )

Did you hike and hang this weekend ?

My hiking partner and I are planning to go to PA Feb25-26 with the group that will end at 501 shelter on the AT.

March will be our next hike.
We have hiked to NY CT border. Ready to start CT.
CT does not allow campfires. ( Not sure if that means no nomad wood burning stoves. )
Nice to have some small fire in winter.

Therefore we will probably finish NY SOBO into NJ next.
We are not fast but constant.
Perhaps a good trip would be to meet up with you and others with a weekend occurring
in the middle of our hike.

March is coming. Thinking of a plan.
