Well I finally did it, I went ahead and tried my hand at my first bugnet hammock. I decided to try the Blackbird clone first to give me a baseline to measure my skills at this point, and the difficulty of the project. Now I can use different ideas in my next bugnet hammock. So here are the details...
It's a DL 1.1, with a 24" opening to allow the use of a pad if needed. I used the 1.1oz Ripstop seconds from DIYGearSupply and I must say, this material is awesome. The fact they call it seconds is ridiculous to me because it has two very tiny gray stripes running down the fabric, and that's it. They actually look like little racing strips
