Well I finally got the chance to get out and do some hiking in the Great Smokey Mountains. I hit a short trail that led out to a back country campsite. The goal for today was to just get out and eat lunch in the woods. Of course while I was there I had to make a camp fire and practice setting up my hammock and tarp. To my supprise while I was setting up my gear two other hikers came out of the woods and started setting up hammocks also. I introduced myself and asked if they were forum members but neither of them had heard about Hammockforums, so of course I filled them in on what they were missing and took the opportunity to show them my 1.1 DL Blackbird hammock which they both liked. (Hopefully we'll see some new members showing up) I got to use my new water filter and cook some Mountain House lunch with clear mountain stream water (Kind of ironic I thought). Once it to sprinkle I knew it was time to head back to the truck. Overall I must say the Smokies are BEAUTIFULL!!! and any time you get to play with your gear is a good day.
