Ozone generators are used by car detailers and fire restoration companys to get rid of smoke and other odors. It chemically negates the odors. You should not be exposing your taste buds (or any part of you) to ozone as it is toxic at levels above what naturally occurs.

Ozone also breaks down rubber with long term exposure, hence, the warning on some products not to store them in confined spaces with running electric motors.

Edit...the one time I tried Febreze to get rid of a musty odor on some military surplus gear, I ended up moving the gear out to the garage for 6 months until the Febreze stink when away. That stuff is horrible!

This probably did happen at UPS or wherever along the shipping line. Too bad.

But Demostix is right, dryer sheets, sprays, all those things only cover up the scent and if you're allergic they could even make matters worse.

If there's any way to hang it in the sunshine for a day, that might help, depending on the source of the smell.

A breezy sunny day and a clothesline is great for getting rid of odors.

Years ago here at our local UPS, a container of the most potent concentrated skunk smell you can imagine, broke open and attached itself to everything in their warehouse. We could smell it just in parts we received at a motorcycle shop. The wedding dresses that got skunked caused them a big problem. lol

Best I advice I can give you, get out backpacking for a couple days. It'll soon smell like you and again you'll have to put it in the garage. On another note, I can't say about Jen but I know for a fact, Adam doesn't smell that good.

I noticed a "perfume" like smell when I bought some 1.1 nylon a while back. Turns out it was the DWR coating. It faded once it was it was unfolded and out on the project table for a while.
