I did not modify the quilt at all, there is a channel along the long edge big enough to slip the shock cord threw. I do not have the 3 tabs along the edge, mine is a older model and she may have changed the way she did the edge. On mine the end channel and side channels are sewn in the very same way giving room for the shock cord to run threw. Try slipping something long and thin into to corner right at the LineLoc to see if the channel is open.

A picture is worth a thousand words! The right side of the picture is the end channel with original cord and the left is the one I added into the sewn channel that was already on the edge.

I bought the short bag that's 72"L. I did consider taking the hood off but changed my mind when I used it the first time in 20 degree weather. I like the hood there and I kind of wrap it around my head creating a tunnel to breath through. But the zipper could go with a seam ripper but only for weight savings, it really doesn't bother me.

We have been testing something similar for heavier and/or longer UQ's. We have been using linelocs on the corners of our UQ's for awhile. I saw a video by GrizzlyAdams where he combined the lineloc on the corner and side channel suspension. A video in worth at least a thousand words Look at Grizz's video at about the 14:40 minute mark

You can replace at least half the shock cord with something like dynaglide to save weight.

We do feel that the stock suspension will work great for most users but this is an alternative that works well.
