been keepin my eye on craigs list and e-bay...saw some good deals but still beyond my budget or had questions about quality. I spent all day today lookin at thrift stores and pawn shops, but found some things but weren't any of the first things u need to buy when first settin up. So i'm still lookin will be lookin and from the looks of some of the posts i've read from some of you hardcore hammock veterans, even when i have everything i need i"ll still be lookin.....

Bubba, if you pinch your pennies tight enough Hammockgear usually has sales for Memorial/Labor/Father's day as do several other of our cottage manfacturers here. And if you search through the forums you can figure out when their various anniversary dates are and many of them do special anniversary sales as well.

So even if you have the cash to buy that new UQ you've been drooling over it might be better to wait a few weeks and get a TQ, or some down booties, or a tenkara rod, or tarp along with that UQ for the same price.

I saw an ENO single nest for 44bucks today but I wasnt sure about the price or if it would be big enough for a fat guy like me. I wouldnt want to plan on hanging and end up bouncing..

Here's a new hammock I'm getting ready to release in a few days.
That's 520 lbs of wood pellets sitting in it.
I suppose you could have "the original" for paying the cost of shipping.

I buy wood pellets by the ton to heat my laboratory.

Tell ya what. I'll go down to the lab and make a stuff sack, a set of tree straps and throw a pair of cinch buckles on this one.

You just leave the wife's money alone. That's way too risky.
Send me your address and I'll get it out to you.

Bubba, this link http://www.tothewoods.net/HomemadeHammock2.html has some great info on DIY gear. I just made my family hammocks from the directions. Very minimal cost. Check online for sales of ripstop nylon we found some for under $4 a yard....

    Welcome and good luck!
