Warbonnet Door Kit with Hennessy Hex Tarp

I have a Hennessy Hex tarp (70D polyester coated) that I enjoy using but there are times I am concerned about blowing rain causing trouble. I recently ordered Warbonnet’s Big Mamajamba Door Kit for this tarp.

I was not able to find any other reports here on Hammock Forums about how well these two items would mix since the door kit is designed for a tarp with different dimensions.

As you can see from my photographs the two seem to work very well together. Since the doors were designed for a narrower tarp, the doors are not long enough to mate with the hex tarp corners. I solved this by using a bit of elastic cord to attach the bottom of the door to the tarp. This is demonstrated in the third image (which is somewhat blurry).

Overall I think this door kit works very well the Hennessy Hex tarp, and I think by using a bit of elastic cord one could get this door kit to work well with other similarly shaped tarps.

    Good stuff.

I've always liked that the Warbonnet doors can be closed entirely by clipping the hooks on to the tarp corners, requiring no extra stake-outs.

Nice job. Thanks for posting the pics. Good info on mating the doors and tarp.
