Well, I now have a brand new 8 qt deep DO. Now to figure out how to use this thing before Sept.

And many other meals. Jaxhiker check out YouTube for some ideas on how to use it. Also if it has not been seasoned yet. There is a nice "how to" video on YouTube. Search how to season a dutch oven.

It's pre-seasoned but my friend said I should season it anyway. I was planning on doing some easy peach cake but read to avoid sugary stuff for the first couple of uses. I'm thinking of simple chicken dish. I hope to have some experience under my belt by Sept. The DO kitchen is always a hit at the Florida hang.

I would highly recommend doing a season yourself ( just out of gp ) and you can get the liners for the sugar dishes. makes for an easy clean up . I did a mean chicken and dumplings at the last sprawl. you shold have seen captain smileys face as I was cooking it.

Where can you find the liners? I saw them somewhere and now I can't remember where. I've checked Wal-Mart and Academy and came up empty.

Pineapple upside down cake is on the plan also. And the family digs some chicken and dumplings. Maybe I'll do that first.

I can't wait to become a DO master, get my own show on Food Network, buy a mansion with a suite of fast cars, etc. Of course whenever I'm interviewed I'll say it all started right here.

I found some on amazon or Bass Pro Shops should have them OR you can just use aluminum foil as a liner. I think we should compare our chicken n dumplings? we need an impartial judge though.
