Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.
I just got out of the woods from a solo hang this weekend. I'm ready to go just repacked everything.
As I did last year, look for the hammock hanging at the corner of the camping area. itll be black, but you might see it up there.
Parking is first come first serve. I know Capt Smiley needs a spot in the first parking area for his trailer (youll see new kids) and i think i can get my bike in the campsite to be next to the hammock.
Setups are also First Come First Serve. we have a big area with a fair amount of trees, but there are some "IDEAL" spots.
I CLAIM THE SPOT BY THE STUMP (if anyone gets there before me....)

No trailer this time, we're going minimal. I don't even have to carry the stove, MB's got that. I'm sure Camp Smiley will be in the same spot, unless someone beats me to it. In which case they're welcome to it. MB, what time are you planning to pull in? That bourbon street chicken takes a while to cook, but if you aren't there early enough I can start it on the campfire if I need to.

I can only afford to live free.
Anything else cost far too much.
Not sure about the time might be in the evening. Will know closer to the hang.

I'm planning to arrive around lunch time or early afternoon. Are we going to be in the primitive/boy scout area?
yes, thats the spot. somewhere in the first post i believe is a map labeled with where well be.
A REMINDER: because you are with the group, you will need to see me about a parking pass. parking is free for us so when you get to the guard shack (unmanned) just pass it by and come on in.

Okay, I got me a couple of laurel oaks cut down and sectioned. Small, but good enough to get the first fire goin', cast iron is set aside, less than I normally tote. Workin' on my new summerweight UQ. I'm hopin' to be a bit more comfortable this year. Ya'll may not want to worry about sodas and such. We're lookin at 8 gallons of tea and something called Posca. It's a long story.

hey, a great summer UQ is a poncho liner. cheap and easy (insert joke here..)
i have to say that my bike is packed to the gills. i have 3 cases FULL of crap coming. 3 hammocks, 2 sets of suspension, tarp, 2 quilts, misc camping gear, knives, etc... and theres more on the way from Paul at Underground Quilts (not sure what. could be a little, could be a lot we shall see...)
itll be a much lighter return trip tho, since most of what im carrying is going home with the raffle winners!!!
and i just got to thinking, TATO is coming and donating some stuff to the raffle, and im sure hell have some stuff on him to purchase (?) so keep that in mind if you need stuff for your quilts or if youre in the market for a nice wood burning stove.
i think saturday ill head to Maurices BBQ for lunch, so if anyone wants to tag along youre more than welcome, since its not far from the campgrounds. next year ill work on BBQ at the hang itself, either home made or otherwise.
