    1.7 single layer owners??

I have a double 1.1(BB) and am very pleased but in the interest of weight reduction I thought of going to a single 1.7 for the buggier months and a double 1.1 traveler in the winter or cooler months. I know its just ounces but I gotta save where I can. I weigh 230lbs ...and am concerned about the support or the lay in the single layer being on the higher end of the scale (250).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I only weigh 208, and I have had both and can't tell a difference at all in the support. The 1.1 double did seem a little softer to me

Ty Southpaw, you said "had" . Any reason why you let the single go? Was it due to the stiffness?

I kept the single. I have the 1.7 now. It's not my go to hammock, I prefer to sleep a little less on the diagonal. I like it just find as comfort goes, it just makes me feel like I'm have my back to the door. It's mental, but what can you do?

I had a double layer 1.1 and currently have a single layer 1.7. I did not have them at the same time so I can't give you any head to head experience. I am 250 lbs and from what I remember of the DL 1.1 I find the SL 1.7 is just as comfortable and the lay is about the same. YMMV though. .

The SL 1.7 will be perfectly fine at that weight.

I have a SL 1.7 Traveler and BB, btw.
