Got one of these brand new not even taken it out of the bag yet. My question is do you need to seal the seams on these or are they already water tight?

Nothing is sealed. The way Brandon makes the ridgeline it does not need to be sealed but you could if you wanted to. The side pullouts do need to be sealed. Many people seal the seams only on the inside but others seal both sides. It's personal preference and either way is fine. I recommend Permatex flowable silicone available at auto parts stores.

Sealed mine on the inside only, with the permatex, worked great
Sealed mine inside and out, I use Sil-net, it's some good stuuf.
Sealed mine on the outside only. Used SilNet. Seems to work.

I've had mine for a year and have been in plenty of downpours. I've never sealed anything. Once in awjile I get a few drops comin through the side tieouts but nothin that gave me any trouble.
