Getting off the ground again in TX

Hello HF. When I was a teenager, I hung from cheap wal-mart hammocks when camping. As the years went by, my backpacking days dwindled a bit. When I hit about 30, I started venturing back into the woods and once again I'm in love. One thing I have noticed is the ground has gotten a lot harder and so I am now planning to go airborne once again! In my evening research HF is linked, referenced and quoted all over the place, so I thought I'd donate a bit of money to the forum and hopefully learn a bunch from all you pros out there.

Look forward to getting to know you guys and gals. -ck

Welcome to HF from Bama........the info can be overwhelming but it is worth the reading. Also check out the "The Ultimate Hang" by dejoha, great book and worth every penny. Also don,t forget to watch the 10 part video series for newbies by HF's Ambassodor Shug, it is entertaining as well as educational.

Thanks bigbamaguuy. Just downloaded the book to my iPad. Gonna be some fun reading I'm sure. Shug's videos are great! They were part of my tipping over to hangin' again. Thanks again. -ck

Welcome back to hanging. There's a pretty good group from Texas that is active here, if you're looking to see different types of gear I would recommend trying to make it to a hang in TX. There's usually one in the spring and fall.
