trail hammock

I'm looking for a small hammock about the time my income tax shows up lol. As of right now I'm going to buy a gtul for about $20. So that's my starting point. If anyone has one or had a diy it would be great. I will not be sleeping in it. Just something for the day pack. I want to be able to get off my feet at lunch time while on the trail.

Go budget on the hammock (i.e. GTUL) but spend a bit on the suspension and stow. The thought being that the more convenient it is to setup and stow away the more enjoyable it will be to use and the more likely you'll be to make opportunities to use it.

Some Dutchware or similar would be in order, probably whoopies and of course your preference on stuff sac, blackbishop, double end, skins, etc.

Now for the tough question; bug protection. Will depend on time of year and location ob
viously but only you can decide how that should play into your setup.

After all that, I'd probably just throw my (28 oz.) Blackbird in the pack and go.

I can't compete with those $20 GTULs, but I have a couple of Dutch edition hammocks left. They clock in at $86.50, unfortunately. They are 10% off right now, and I would throw in a soft shackle for the ridgeline and some biners for the suspension. Shipping would be on you, but whatever the actual cost is.

If it's any consolation I'd make about $5 off that deal. lol. Still, I think that more than you were hoping to spend.
