Converted a friend on the last camping trip to hanging and so I'm trying to get him setup for the next trip with as much of his own gear as I can.
I made him a 10.5x5 hammock out of some nice ACU nylon I found. I have enough amsteel on hand to make a structural ridgeline, but need to get some more for whoopies and a few soft shackles to complete the hammock setup. He's also going to need some tree straps.
So I'd like to pick up some 7/64 or 1/8 amsteel, and some tree straps for him if possible. Figured I'd ask here before ordering up some new stuff from Diygearsupply.com as that always hurts the pocketbook cause I can't just order a couple things right?
I can buy it outright(paypal) or trade off some of that ACU fabric I bought recently if you want to do some DIY with it, or I can sew up a hammock for the right deal.(it wont be the prettiest sew job, but it holds good!) The fabric is ACU Pattern ~2oz/sq yard 60" wide. I've also got a fosters pot with lid removed if there is any intrest.
Made single layer hammock 10.5x5 sewn end channels and have tested it so far up to about 410lbs of weight, its nice strong stuff... here's a pic of the hammock
I guess I'll throw this out there too, he will eventually need a Tarp and bug net as well if you have something you want to part with on the cheap.
thanks for looking...
