RL length for a UL

I picked up a Grand Trunk Ultralight to hang in my sons room the other day and I rigged up a single line suspension with descender rings and 50' of para cord (I know, not the best suspension but it's just for trial uses). I am having a hard time getting the ridgeline length dialed and wondered if anyone else has a good idea what length works well. This is my first gathered end hammock so I'm just trying to get a little more familiar with set up.

By no means am I an expert but Ive seen folks going with around 85% of hammock length on standard hammocks. Then Ive seen this vary on the new school 11' hammocks.

I used 89" on mine and attached it right at the gathered end on the rope.

I think you'll find it is 83%.

That's a good starting point anyway. Adjust from there.

sounds easy enough. I'll try 83 to 85 % and see what I get.

91" is a sweet hang on this hammock.

So I did 97" which is 83% of the total length where I attached the suspension lines. I set the suspension so that I can still bend the RL to vertical with three fingers and it feels pretty good. I can't fathom the sag one would get with a 89" RL. Am I missing something?

I set my hmmocks at 93%.
My gtul ridge line is a lengthy 106"

For me, the GT UL (and most of the narrower hammocks) benefit from a slightly longer RL length.

Edit: I should also say that your height matters also. Since I'm only 5' 8" on my tippy toes, I can get by with a shorter ridgeline if I need to.
