Has anyone "hammocked" at Theodore Roosevelt National Park?

My wife and I were looking at places we could hang out in the north west and thought Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota looked nice but was a bit concerned that there would not be good trees to hang from.

Anyone been there and if so, how's the hanging? Thanks.

I loaned an ENO to a grad student who was doing some work up there, and he reported that he hung every night. He also reported epic 'skeeters.

    meh

I stopped there about 4 years ago. If I recall correctly, there are a fair number of trees in the campground, but very few in the backcountry. I ended up leaving my HH in the trunk and striking out with my tent and backpack on the trails. Spent the night at the top of a hill with no trees in sight.

I underestimated how much water I would need and ran short, returning a little dehydrated.

My most vivid memory is the sound of the wind. You have to get away from the roads and people to hear it, but if you do just sit quietly for a while and listen. You will hear winds that you have never heard before.

    Enjoy.
