Hello all! I've been lurking on here for quite a while. Bouncing back and forth about buying a hammock or just making one. I was at the local Jo-Ann Fabric store yesterday and they had all of their Rip Stop on sale at 25% off. Decided to give it a whirl! Followed directions that I found while lurking and did a simple roll hem gathered end hammock turned out great! I am very surprised how small it packed down to. 14oz with suspension. No Tarp yet. That's the next project!
I'd like to thank everyone who contributes. There is a ton of great information on here and it has helped me so much.
Now that I've gotten that excitement out of the way. A bit about myself. My name is David and I live in Eastern Connecticut. I have been doing day hike and bagging peaks in New England for the last year. Gearing up to do get some weekenders and maybe a few 4-6 day hikes in a year. I'm an ultra light back packer.
Thanks again!
Dave
