i finished my diy uq yesterday. I set up my hammock to put it on, and got stuck. now, its connected with two lines of paracord tied off in an over hand knot, with a carabiner conecting it to the rope in my gathered end hammock. its a little tideous to work with though, and im afraid its not gunna last to lond. i was just wondering how manufactured uq connect to the hammock so i can improve my system.
Instead of paracord, use shock cord, 1/8" to attach to the ends. That way when you get in and out of your hammock the shock cord will "give" instead of tearing your underquilt. The shock cord usually runs the length of the UQ so you can also adjust (slide) your UQ up or down the cord.
