    Will I be warm?

Going to try an overnight trip snow hammocking next weekend. Have a HH, diy Winter tarp with doors, Jarbridge UQ, lined with a space blanket , small piece of CCF pad for my feet and a 10* F down sleeping bag. Temperature should be lo to mid 20s. Will this keep me warm? I don't like to freeze or suffer.

id say to try to set it up at home first, making bailing that much easier. your bag wont do anything under you, but it seems that you have your butt covered, literally. the UQ being a 30* lets hope that blanket gets you at least 10 more degrees.
Give a man fire and he's warm for the night.
Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life. Dante

It doesn't get that cold at my house, but this setup was good to about 30* on my last trip. I'm worried that lo 20s may get to me.

I wouldn't trust that space blanket to get you an extra 10*. The jarbridge is fine but the jump from 30 to 20 is a big one.....for me at least. Do what Rev says and try it out in a safe location first if you can

This will definitely work. I love the uq but a pad isn't too bad when the temps really dip

Did you have the space blanket on your last trip in the 30s? If so, were you plenty warm on bottom or just barely OK?

A space blanket has no trouble adding 10 to 20F to an HH Super Shelter. I have also used one in a 20F rated PeaPod to sleep fine at ~10F. So it should help, at least it does for me and several other HHSS users here. But it just all depends on how much you can get out of the Jarbridge by itself. First people vary so much. 2nd, it depends on whether any given UQ is functioning perfectly for you, i.e. no drafts/gaps/over compression.

A full length pad, or a 2nd section of torso or even smaller sized pad, is your best insurance if your testing has been limited. All you need is a WM blue pad- cheap and cut down to a size to cover the normally coldest areas- butt and lower back, or full torso or even full length if you prefer. Let us know how it goes.

The last time, I used a cheap mylar from WM and I was nice and toasty at 30. This time I am using a thicker one from REI http://www.rei.com/product/407106/sp...eather-blanket

I do have a WM ccf pad and I also have thermarest pads. Which one should I use and if I use the extra pad would I need the space blanket?

What temp rating is the Jarbridge UQ?

I am no fan of pads or spaceblankets for fear of condensation.
Except in the foot area of my SB/TQ to lay my feet on.
Inside the bag not under it.

I do more winter hanging than summer.
And recent survived -3F with wind warmly using 20 Degree quilts and a breathable UQ Protector.
Before bailing the next morning do to extreme wind.

What I find really helps is selecting the proper clothing to sleep in.
It will really extend your temp range.

Fresh heavy wool sock with down booties, heavy weight long underwear, micro fleece top, down jacket with hood, light balaclava, wool watch cap, wool gloves.

Set your tarp up to block the most wind.

Bring extra if in doubt. Take note of what works....you'll know for sure after the trip.
