    Big Daddy vs MacCat

Hey guys, once again I wanted to reach out to HF for some imput on the two tarps. I will be buying one of these before the week's end. If anyone has some feedback, good or bad, on either, please share.

    Thanks

Which maccat are you asking about - the deluxe or ultra? I have both the BG and Deluxe and bouth are excellent tarps. Seems the side cuts are deeper on the deluxe (possibly males it lighter) but can't go wrong either way.

i don't have any experience w/MacCat tarps but i do own 2 WildernessLogics tarps (TadPole & OldMan Winter). i'm very happy with both. WL uses double coated sil-nylon for all of their tarps. i haven't seen any sign of leakage and haven't sealed either tarp.
i will be ordering a BigDaddy in the spring.

I had an OES MacCat Deluxe for awhile, currently own a WL Big Daddy 144 which I love. Both well made, excellent tarps. Big Daddy is slightly bigger overall, and slightly heavier. I can't say enough good things about WL customer service. Compare size specs, weights, and prices, and go with the one that suits your needs. Both are great tarps.

If you can afford it, get a cuben tarp, a 12ft 8 oz tarp is hard to beat (except for the price)

I too had a Maccat Deluxe and now have a 144" Big Daddy. The BD def gives more coverage and I am a huge proponent of the guy line stow pockets. Both are high quality tarps. I would go with the greater coverage. Of course if your pocketbook allows, I would consider a Cuben tarp for a substantial weight savings.

You may like the Arrowhead Toxaway tarp as well. Not to make your decision harder.
