Long Trail End-to-End!
Well after much thinking about it, I put in for the time off at work and will be doing an End-to-End of the Long Trail in Vermont! Taking 25 days off to do it, but figure I will finish sooner. Just wanted to make sure I had plenty of time to enjoy it. 24 nights in my hammock...WHHOOOOOO BUDDDYYYY!!
HOLY COW! man-O-man sounds like you are in hammock heaven my friend hope all goes well and ya have a good safe trip....trip reports/pics to follow??

Oh yes, there will be a full trip report and many pics. Can't wait to get out there, the next 5 months are gonna draaaggggggg lol
I hope to thru hike the LT in 2013 from late August through late September. If you plan on keeping a journal online like postholer.com please let so I can follow along. I’m sure any information you can give me about the logistics of hiking the LT with a hammock will be very helpful. I built a piece of gear http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=47417 with the LT in mind. Let me know if you think it would work on the northern end of the trail.

Once you get north of where the AT breaks away from it, the terrain gets a lot more rugged. Many AT hikers compare it to the hardest parts of the AT. The scenery is magnificent thoughI've always heard its absolutely brutal. Makes Linville Gorge look like a quaint city park.
