Not that it's a huge deal, but wanted to update this thread anyway. I'm not doing the full LT this summer now. I will, however, be doing 9 days on it with my fiancee' in late September...though I will be tenting with her

I started out the new year with a goal of getting back into shape. I just felt like I was at my lowest point of physical fitness and my highest body weight. I have always been a "fit" guy, and I can't figure out how I let myself slide so much, but it happened. So, I started working out and eating better at the new year. Come spring, I bought a new XC racing mountain bike because I wanted to try my hand at that. I fell in love with it and have been riding a ton. Then, a buddy of mine who is big into road cycling and racing got me to try that. Now, I have found that i'm completely addicted to that as well! So, in the last 2 months I have spent more money then I care to think about on bikes and cycling gear lol, but, I have lost a total of 48 pounds and feel better than I have in YEARS! My doctor said I'm the exact weight I should be at, but I'm gonna push to lose a few more pounds just to be lighter on the bike because I'm going to start racing soon.

So with all that happening, I haven't had hiking on my mind much. Plus, I haven't been thinking about hammocks much, other than setting them up in my back yard to relax in. Though, I am getting the itch to get back out in the mountains with the Blackbird

Anyway, just wanted to post up about what's been going on. Here's a couple pics of the new toys...

I'm sure it is! I don't even know where it is to be honest with you, it's somewhere in the gear room. Should probably dig it out some day here lol

That's awesome. I did MA line to Manchester Center a few years ago and plan on going back and finishing it up soon. The LT is absolutely awesomely fantastically amazing. Have fun on your pre-hikes and getting ready for the adventure.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

Have fun preparing. I completed the end-to-end this summer and it was quite an experience. Lots of places to hang!
