Here is my new DIY Tarp. I used two sections of nylon, 3.5 yds. each.
12.3 oz, before sil, 12'8" ridgeline, 5' on each side.
I welcome any feedback/suggestions on tarp tension and hanging.
Thanks,
Chef

There are very few problems we can solve ourselves, but there is almost nothing we cannot solve together.
Most often when someone says they can't, they are unwilling to try.
it looks like you have a solid tarp there, nice use of two different fabrics.
Looks great. I like Shug's video on tarp hanging, and his use of toggles and prussik's to go under the ridgeline...

Great job! I like how the two fabrics added a unique look....how 'bout adding side tie-outs to it? helps to make the tarp roomier.

Looks Good! I made one last year useing 1.1 oz silnylon. I double hemmed all edges but only used Grossgrain for the loop tie outs. So far It is holding up excellent. Fact is first night out I was In Smokys last April when The torrental rains and tornados went thru. They lost a levee at treatment center that night. Thank God we were down in the valley camping . It was scary sounded like freght trains coming right at us! Enjoy your tarp it should work well, they can take allot!
Nice job. The ripple you mentioned - the stress area - might be an inherent property of joining two different materials together. One might have more or less stretch than the other. I haven't made a tarp so take that for what it's worth but I must commend you on an outstanding looking piece of gear.

Enjoy the elevation
Well, that's Awesome!
Syb probably nailed it on the stretch, or it could be the grosgrain prevents proper stretch unless it's done just so. Either way that won't keep it from keeping you dry!
Great looking tarp there
(and thanks for the props)
