I have never done a night hike on purpose before, only a couple times unintentionally when i got lost. Maybe I should try it. It looks like fun in your video. Maybe its more enjoyable when you intend on doing it. Thanks for the report.

Wives are such killjoys! lol She would have rung all her friends and told them how stupid it is too. I liked your horse story, in fact both stories were good! SilvrSurfr the tree stareer. There are a lot of interesting things to see there! Thanks for the trip report!

    Laying in moss is good.

This is my 4th or 5th night hike on purpose in the last few months. It just seems I've always got stuff to do during the day - work, coaching sports, etc. My wife has 1000 things on her honey-do list as well, but if I hike at night, I can still get in some exercise and enjoy the piney woods.

Wait a minute there buddy. In one of your previous videos, didn't you say that you were, how should I put it, not well suited to hiking alone or at night?

I am too blind and stupid for night hiking, I admit, but it's growing on me! I get lost less and less the more I go out at night. Blind and stupid is less of a problem than my tendency to zone out entirely kind of in a trail trance - just hiking without checking for markers or anything. When I wake up from my trance, I realize I've gone two miles without seeing a trail marker.

I've started paying more attention to trail markers, backtracking before I go two miles out of the way. Seems to work wonders compared to my previous methods!
