    Descender Rings

I recently put rings on my eno and Snipe… I found after a few hangs they tend to slip, so I just ran the webbing thru again and tied a slip knot. Anybody else need to do this or am I doing something wrong?

They will slip and so will the buckles. I always tie a slippery half hitch.
We are now ready to start our way down the Great Unknown. We are three quarters of a mile in the depth of the earth. We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknow river yet to explore. What falls there are, we know not; what rocks beset the channel, we know not; what walls rise over the river, we know not. Ah, well! We may conjecture many things. The men talk as cheerfully as ever; jests are bandied about freely this morning; but to me the cheer is somber and the jests are ghastly. Powell 1869

Thanks Scotty! It’s not much trouble at all to set the slip hitch but I was just wondering.

Same here. I do run it thru one more time and tie a slippery half hitch. A bit of a hassle though if I need to adjust.

I tie a slippery half hitch too. I was hooking up my DIY double layer the other day for the first time. I had one end where I wanted it, then went to adjust the other. When I looked back at the end I had set, it had slipped all the way to the ground! Half-hitch ever since!

    Half hitch here too.

But not until my butt hit the ground a couple times.

You have to tie the half hitch or you will be waking up on the ground.
    Not a happy experience.....
