    wich tarp?

im looking at getting either the mambajamba or the superfly... im not sure if the doors are necessary, mostly because of the extra space they take up even though i may only use them once or twice every seasons. price is not an issue, as they are about 20 bucks difference, and i dont worry about weight. which tarp would you suggest from your own expirience?

You can't go wrong with either. However, if this is for your backyard camping, I would get doors. The reason is because if there is heavy wind or snow you can block it off with the superfly.

superfly won't take up that much more space - and they are easy to tie back if you don't need to use them.

Its better to have the option to use it in more situations. I'd say go for the Superfly.

If you can only get one tarp then go ahread and get one with doors. Better to have them and not need them that the other way.

Agreed on the better to have it and not need it mindset but if you are looking for a do-all that isn't crazy overkill in the summer you can get the BMJ and get the door kit or one or a pair of grizz beaks to cap it all off in the winter or if really bad weather is expected

From one Minnesotan to another, go with the Superfly. Especially if weight is not an issue. Because around here when you need doors you REALLY NEED DOORS! Bring lots of stakes and rope.

At first I thought your thread was called "Witch Tarp" and for a moment I sat pondering what kind of tarps witches would be interested in, but I digress.

Another vote for the Superfly. Between blowing snow in winter and horizontal rain in summer around here, you will be glad you have those doors.

Doors good.....at least one end. Winter wind is wicked and robs your heat.
Not needed but I know I like mine.
My DIY BlackCrow tarp can go either way......
