I was kinda thinkin' Adam should just leave the old shock cords on & put a cord lock on all four corners, where they come out of the side channels. You'd have about the same adjustability.

Wouldn't that make the UQ sage since you would be effectively lengthening the shockcord that goes around the ends of the hammock.

I kinda like the new design. Once you know where your butts going to be in any given hammock you pretty much need to lock it in place.
The new design allows you to do just that.

The longer the bungee (or any spring) is, the stretchier it is. That is why there have been some sag problems with partial UQs with continuous suspensions.

    +1

I had a good chat with Adam today on the phone and we talked through suspension techniques. The man knows his business! I was impressed. The bottom line, like Knotty mentioned is sag. Sag is compounded when it gets cold since the shock cord stretches more plus the extra weight in the bag.

I'm eager to see and try the new suspension system. For smaller or summer-weight quilts, it may not be as big of a deal.

What is the cost to have this done to an existing hammock gear Phoenix!? Looks great!

Thinking something similar. Maybe a kit can be put together to retro fit older UQs.
