Question on Spreader Bar length on a Bridge

How does shortening the spreader bars by a couple inches affect a bridge hammock? I am specifically referring to a Chrysalis, if that helps. How will it affect the lay and the overall setup of the hammock?
I know you bridge experts out there will be of great help to me. Thank you.

I imagine you're talking about the head end spreader bar. It is so long on the Chrysalis already, that I don't think a couple of inches is going to make a great deal of difference except to bring it in a little closer around the shoulders.

    my guess

Thanks Grizz. I'm not sure if just the head end spreader was shortened or both. It is not my hammock, but I am considering it. I will inquire to see if both have been shortened.

I shortened the spreaderbar 5cm (2") on the head end of my Chrysalis. It lowered my head just enough I think, havenīt been out in the real world with it yet, just mocked up in the bassement.
But it did actually introduce some shouldersqueeze. Donīt know if it will harm my overall comfort, dont think so, but time will tell!
I wouldnīt shorten the foot end though, I think that would possibly ruin the side-lay. Note that i said "think", Iīve never tried other bridges so I canīt compare with the JrB etc. that seems to have a deeper lay vs. the Chrysalis.

    Cheers / Mix
