Just curious - do you have them on your tarps? Do you use them? How often?

Have em, use em in low/storm pitch situations mostly. Try not to use em when it's snowing because it flattens out the ridgeline too much that snow won't slide off. I prefer to pull out the leeward side if possible. If I have to pull out on the windward side it's at a low angle, more for support than extra space.

Sometimes I use them, sometimes not. On a still night when there is little to no breeze, there really isn't much use for them. But, once you've had a good storm pushing a big panel of fabric against you in the hammock, you discover the value in a really big hurry.
Trust nobody!
Don't have them. I try to minimize the number tie offs I have to deal with. Of course you could just not use them when you don't want but thus far I've gotten by fine w/o them.

Sometimes. I have them on my large sil JRB tarp. In cold weather, I set it up in a narrow A-frame so the ends are as close to ground as I can get them to keep out wind gusts. At first I would only pull out the same side as my zipper entrance to hammock. So I'd have more room on that side. But the first time a big windy rain storm hit, I got tired of the other side of tarp being up against me when the sil got wet and stretched and pushed up against side of hammock.
When expecting snow, I don't use them for reason stated above. If weather is nice, I don't use them because I'll have amuch wider pitch or one side pitched up high like a porch roof for view and breeze.
I like having them and would have them on any future purchase. It's nice to have the choice and to experiment.

I've just bought two Grip Clips to try these as side tie out fixings on my tarp.

I like having 'em, creates a bit more room to move around.
I'm not asleep... but that doesn't mean I'm awake.
I have them and use them often. They keep my larger tarp away from my hammock during windy conditions. They provide extra room inside the tarp. I also have door flaps on my tarp and I use the tie outs as way to keep the doors back during good weather. Warbonnet Super Fly.
