Hammock Camping Articles

I have read Shug's article on hammock camping. Whooo Buddy to ya Shug. Im writing a paper and i would like an article that focuses more on the low impact to nature side rather than the social side i felt i got from Shug's article. Any one come accross a good article lately whether its helpfull to my cause or just fun reading for HF?

Read the Ultimate Hang by Derek Johanson......it covers the low enviroment impact aspects of hammock camping.

The book is also available as an e-book so you can get it quick! If you are writing an essay or a serious article, I wouldn't skimp on research. You can find a lot of great material online --Jeff's site is good as are a lot of other internet sites, but I wouldn't stop there. I recommend getting Speer's book on hammock camping because he has a lot of experiences in his book that may give you more references.

Of course, I guess it depends on what you're writing. Research paper for a college class? Better do more research. A two-paragraph summary for a boy scout group? Pulling from internet sources (well cited, of course) would probably suffice. A magazine article for Backpacker magazine? I'd go for an interview with Shug, Professor Hammock, Jeff, or any of the "old timers" who've been around a while.

Wouldn't research be overkill for Backpacker? I thought they just wrote about the gear that they make the most ad money on.
