My fabric is 1.7 and it looks OK. I do have a new one though that is 1.1 now and haven't used it with the bug net yet. So I'll just be sure to run a piece of fuzzy velcro over the sticky side to cover it up. Thanks for the heads up.

You should definitely add an option for whoopies with straps to the blackbird and traveler suspension options, even if it would a few dollars for those options. Just my $.02

our velcro is the omni-tape variety (both sides are the same vs normal hook and loop), so it's possible it won't stick to the fabric, but it should be easy to tell

i'm leaning more toward just keeping them as an accessory option with a how-to video coming soon, i'm trying to avoid stocking 3 versions of every hammock (one for each suspension) and instead encourage folks to do the mod themselves. i might add a "whoopie install" option but it would likely be priced such that it encourages installing it ones self

it's a breathable fabric which is required for something enclosed like a sock

the fabric is wind and water resistent (not proof), this keeps it breathable.

you'd still want a tarp if expecting rain, but it will shed light rain. i've used it without a tarp in a pretty heavy snowstorm (2 feet), but that snow was pretty dry.

Oh I really hope you took pics of that! Socks work very well in extreme cold without a tarp.

I have a friend who's asked for advice that hangs in the summer in an ENO and she gets by with a pad. Her husband wants her to go out with him more when it's colder. She asked about a tarp with doors but I'm leaning more towards the Sock idea to add to her existing set set up. She wont mind me saying this but she's not very mechanical. So my question is, don't you think she'd be a little warmer, out of the wind and it be a bit easier for her to set up than a giant tarp she has to get set up just right with lots of lines and stakes to deal with?
I know an under quilt is something she really needs too but the cost is holding her back so far. But I'm still working on that.
