Greetings y'all. I've been a lurker for quite some time but just wanted to say thank you to EVERYONE that has unknowingly helped me discover a new way to 'hang' in the woods. I've always been an avid outdoors enthusiast and spent many a years in my youth with one of our beautiful MN state parks out my back door. No better playground for a ten-year old, or any-year old.
I discovered the forums last year (can't remember exactly how) and have gleaned an immeasurable amount of wisdom, tips and inspiration from this community. Since switching to a hammock and diverging from the tent, I've found myself exploring more and more areas I wouldn't have previously attempted. I like solitude and hammocking has allowed me to take the less-traveled path...
And that has made all the difference
My equipment is simple and cheap (but really comfortable), my enjoyment has been profound and priceless.
I look forward to much more exploration to come and the continued motivational spark that reading (and now participating in) the forums always ignites.
Skol!
