    HH with whoopie slings questions

Hey, I am fixing up my HH to have whoopie slings. I am planning on using a separate ridgeline for the tarp, but I am wondering about ways to use the stock tarp setup with the whoopie slings. Has anybody hooked up the original prussik-tied suspension onto a whoopie sling? It seems like it would fit on the variable loop without issue, but I don't know if it would hold. I don't want to untie the perfectly functional knots to experiment unless I know that it works...

Thanks for any feedback. I'll put an update if I give in and try it...

Get the soft shackle prusik from whoopieslings.com. I use dynaglide whoopie slings and wrap these around them 3 times. They grip the whoopies really well. No sliding at all. It will attach the same way as the standard tarp. Just attach your standard HH clip onto the pursik.

Jago, the rule of thumb with prusiks is that the line used for the prusik should be the same size or preferably smaller than the line that it is attaching too. Some have used the original prusiks with success after wrapping them 4 times around the whoopie sling. Our soft shackle prusiks will certainly work as stated above though.

I'm not sure how your whoopie slings are made but if there isn't sufficient room between the fixed eye and constrictor, you can put the prusik on the adjustable loop as long as it is on the side that comes from the outer line on the constrictor. You do not want to out the prusiks on the inner line of the constrictor.

I had used the original prussics with my 1/8 amsteel whoopies and i had no issues..i just make as many wraps and the stock clips will allow.

    Perfect

Thanks for the additional info. Based on my measurements, mine will need to go into the adjustable section, so thanks for the heads up. I guess I would have planned on putting them there, but now I know for sure! I will have to test out the originals before I make up my mind...
