I use the wire out of some 18 inch long twist ties that I get from work. I strip off the plastic and use the wire. I fold it in half and it is the perfect size for the 1.75 Zing-it/Lash-it. Also a +1 for the taper.

If I break one no big deal I strip the plastic off another one.

All my guylines and RL and prusiks etc are from 1.75 zing-it. All my lines have a eye spliced into the ends and prusiks are made from a spliced continuous loop, no knots, just smooth splices.
    Good luck,

    Ah..got it

I make bow strings so I've worked quite a bit with synthetic fibers but never zing/lash-it. It's pretty slippery to splice isn't it!

I have found the way and Ihave seen the light. I just bought a set of needles that works perfectly for splicing. I've done 7/64 amsteel and long with 1.75mm zing it. They work great. I actually bought two packs. I posted one in the pif. There is a little trick to the needles and I will share if anyone claims them but yeah they work awesome.
