Myself and my two hiking buddies spent Sat night In Panthertown. We camped In front of the geat wall. Weather man called fo low 23 but It was 16 at 6am. It was very windy Sat but winds died down after dark. This Is a great place to set up a base camp and then explore valleys granite peaks and waterfalls. I took my vintage Kelty pack that a puchased back In 1970. Lowest temp that I have been In my hammock. Used Golite 20 as top quilt and full length 40 UQ ZEP paired with Lieghs 20 2/3 quilt and foot pad. Stayed warm and out of wind with Mama Jama tarp with sewed on doors.
