would you be willing to share the specs on this one. like how long the main body is how wide on the ends and center and weight. I'm thinking of building something very similar.

Life looks better from a BIAS hammock.
Cant draw you a pic, mostly because I suck but I will try to explain.
Finished measurements are as follows:
Length 87"
Width Varies at different points starting from the head end.
Width 56"
Narrows to 29"
Narrows to 27"
Widens to 48" at the foot end
Width
Head 56"--------------------29"----------27"-------------------48" Foot
<7.5"> BAR <====29"======> <==21"=> <======22"======> <BAR>
Length
Starting from the foot the narrow from 48" to 27" is a straight cut. The same is true for the widen from 27" to 29". From the 29" to the Head end of 56" this was a parabolic cut using a piece of ratan or thin dowel I bent leading off the established angle of the previous straight cut to a spot 7.5" in from the edge of the head end.
The bars are placed right through the webbing but melting a hole. Bars are inset 7.5" from the end of the fabric or 72" apart.
Hope this helps pm or post for additional questions

Great job.
Just wondering, did you model the dimensions after the newer Chrysalis or the older version?
Some of the initial inspiration was taken off the 2011 model, but the shoddy construction materials and methods of the Chrysalis led me then in other directions pretty quickly after that.

Do the dimensions change like you made yours .... narrowing twice before widening at the foot>
I haven't checked mine but am curious.
BTW, I sleep in mine a lot indoors .. well over 150 nights so far and only one place is coming apart down past the foot spreader.
I have the camper top and the bug screen and they are all fine too but don't get used nearly as often.
Maybe you just got a bad one?
I must have then because when I laid in mine for the first time I watched the stitching pop along the edges. Plus their material choices leave alot to be desired. Now I dont know how big you are but I weight nearly 275lbs and I am fairly positive that the Chrysalis wasn't made for that.
The Chrysalis seems to narrow more gradually toward the the lift at the knee or atleast from what I saw on mine.
Im gonna spend my first night in mine Friday and my only concern is how my UQ will fit. I suspect I will need add a ridge line and lifters on the underquilt to make for a snug fit.

If it was mine I couldn't help calling it the Comfort Zone.
Any worry about the webbing failing on you due to the burned holes?
