    Car Camping In Chesterfield

Boy what a weird weekend that we had. A few of us got together Friday night at a spot that my scouts frequent a couple of times a year. There were Five of us on Friday night and 3 more showing up Saturday Morning. Friday night there were My 7 Y/o son on his first hang, my Friend Darryl and his 14 y/o son Brandon, GeneGene here on the forums and myself. Friday night we had rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain and high winds. We had a good time though. I was glad that my son for one didn't complain at all, and two seemed to have a good time.
Saturday was a little better weather. We had snow squalls throughout the day along with up to 40MPH winds ALL day long. During the Morning mbnow, R3l@x and Raiffnuke all show up to the party. My son though, had left before R3l@x showed up. He was bringing a new HH Scout for my son's birthday which was Friday. So he ended up sleeping in his brothers Expedition. All and all a great hanging out with the guys and as always talking shop and gear. Looking forward to the next one. Pictures to hopefully to follow soon.

Thanks again Nighthauk for organizing everything.

That was my first group hang and had a great time. Looking forward to doing another in the not too distant future.
Great to meet up and hang, and check out other hammock setups.

I think after this weekend Raiffnuke should hold knot tieing seminars.
That certainly came in handy with those winds.

Also i think You and Darryl could start a car camping catering company.
    That was some good chow!
Next time we'll do a pot luck and you can sit back and relax.

No problem, I would be more than happy to share what I know. And, if Nighthauk is interested, I can share that knowledge with his scouts at our next gathering.

And as to the food, yes, I agree, Nighthauk and company did an outstanding job! He is going to have to sit back and relax next time as we cook for him!

    Your welcome

This is what I really like about group hangs. You get to check out everyone's setup and see what would work on your or be able to show them what might work better for them.

I agree. I have picked a couple of things every time I have hanged with Raiff.

Also i think You and Darryl could start a car camping catering company.
    That was some good chow!
Next time we'll do a pot luck and you can sit back and relax.

Thank you. We had a blast. I am glad you enjoyed everything. I look forward to it.

Definitely a great trip, it was a pleasure making new friends and camping with old ones again. I have to give props to Nighthauk and Darryl for the meals and endless hot water and coffee over the fire. We’ll have to serve you on the next group hang.

It looks like the low was around 19 degrees but that wind was something else. The bonus on these trips is checking out other peoples gear/setups. That Light Owl worked out great, I think I found my new winter hammock once I figure out how to keep everything inside.

Don't worry about serving me I just enjoying hanging with you guys. I am glad that you liked everything though.

    My second favorite part.

This trip was a lot of fun, and a great time was had by all. I have been trying to post pictures from the trip, but I am having difficulties with the site. The mods are looking into the issue.

In the mean time, here is a little video showing some of the fun we had while we were there....
