    Question

Are you planning that we camp the same place both nights or a different place each night? Just wondering.

Well, I think since we're getting to be such a large group we might want to camp in the same place that will accommodate everyone and do expeditions during the day. A paddle around the lake one day and a hike for those that like that or even both by alternating them. What do you think?

I agree, a Base Camp accomodating that many campers might be difficult to re-establish once initially found. Plus having our kayaks keeps us plenty mobile to explore. Going to be a fun trip!

due to the amount of people we had when i went we had to camp at 3 different spots. No reason we can't do that this time.

Just look at the map and find campsites close together

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.

There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.

That sounds fine, we'll just have to assess that as it gets closer and have a final head count.

Post I have extra maps now ...

Stopped by Robbinsville and Lake Santeetlah yesterday on the way home from South Carolina (my father's 86th birthday dinner was Sunday).

Got maps at the Robbinsville/Graham County Visitors Bureau and the USFS Cheoah Ranger District office at the lake.
    Visitors Bureau web site.

Told them I was coming with a group, so they gave me extra maps to share. I have 3 extra maps of the lake and 4 extra maps of the city & county. I'll mail them to anyone who asks. I'll pay the postage.

The maps are in my mailbox for each of you, waiting on my mail lady's afternoon run on my street.

I agree, BH, HF is a great site with good karma.
