Question Seam seal question on omw tarp

I started a thread on how to seam seal and it was mentioned to me that I dont need to seam seal my Oldman Winter tarp. Is this true? I hope so!!!

As I understand it, it is true. They use a french seam or something like that on the ridgeline, like Warbonnet uses, which doesn't need to be seam sealed.. some may disagree based on their personal experiences. I'm going to roll with it, with mine, until/if I feel I need to.

I have NOT seamsealed my Big Daddy and have been under extremely heavy rain now several times with no issues. YMMV

    Leaked like a sieve

I just finished seam sealing my OMW. I used it once late last fall without sealing - a huge storm came in and poured rain all night and halfway through the next day - the seams at the door flaps beaded-up with water, stitching on backs of the pull-outs got wet but didn't wick enough through to drip, but the ridgeline dripped on me all night. I ended up in a hotel for the 2nd night of the trip wishing I'd taken the time before the trip to just put the darn sil-net on.

I did mine, just for the heck of it to be safe,,glad I did,,doesn't take long,,dry over nite if you string it tight up in the house or garage before sealing it ,,and when it drys,,looks good to me..and never gave it a chance to leak,,did the panel side tieouts too.
