Paint chipping from the 'biners? He must live better through chemistry and faith in it: Can you say DuPont Imron?

But seriously, he should see more than one comment with a pointer to whoopieslings.com or another vendor who will make some soft shackles for him. Soft-shackles: another very good idea.

Maybe consider making all the connections to the hammock inside the cab, with the webbing running thru the doors, might do the least amount of dammage to the gaskets and eliminate scratching,

I hang my Byers Moskito in the Xterra... the end loops of the hammock run through the doors, and the two ends of the rachet strap attach to those. The hooks on my ratchet are plastic-coated, so there's little wear on the paint.

Throw some rags under the h/w and it would be good to go.

Watching that and listening to the hardware hit the car was killing me. Cool idea, but not on my ride (or my wife's).

When it comes to hardware chipping the paint, I still think Nick from DD Hammocks gets the award for his hammock stand/rally car.

By comparison, the YouTube method is downright friendly to the vehicle.

Just a thought measured my van came out to be 98 inches why not make a strap with eyes on each end just long enough to get inside my van and attach biners the suspension on the my BB should work and no hardware comes in contact with the paint and the hammocks suspension could just be left to hang in the van. Thoughts guys?

That was my thought too. With no hardwear touching the doors, chips are not a problem.
