Grizz did a video on the HFDHS - Hardware Free Detachable Hammock Suspension. Do you have similar ideas?
Don't let life get in the way of living.
I have that on my rig. Tree straps, whoopies and nacrobiners to hook up with.
Tarp is a WL Big Daddy - loops, no metal - with the line, prussigs & nacrobiners
Love is blind. Marriage is an eye opener.
I'm not sure what grizz did. I don't have time or bandwidth to watch the video right now, but yes, tree straps are a must, and no, no nacras or soft shackles. We're talking about a two piece setup with no hardware, metal or otherwise, and no tying, yet remaining just as adjustable as a whoopsie sling.
This is sounding good!

I had some awesome knot I thought would work for an amazing suspension system.... It didn't.
Mmm interesting....
Only thing I can think of right now is a whoopiesling with the adjustable loop connected to one eye of a tree hugger (sew the eye of tree hugger around whoopiesling), then pass whoopiesling around tree, through other eye of tree hugger, connect non moving end of whoopiesling with a larks head to hammock.
Works nice if tree diameter does not outwits the length of your hugger....main reason I do not use it this way...still shackle or biner for me... so, tempted to see what you have come up with....

Heck I don't know what the excitment is all about.
TeeDee and I have been using a hardware free suspension for at least a year now and probably between 1 and 2 years. TeeDee posted all about it somewhere on the forums.
So hardware free suspensions have been around for a long time already.
And yes a hardware free suspension can just as easy and quick as one with biners.
Attach a line with a stopper knot at the end. Slide the loop and then push up the turtle-neck of a soft shackle to make it secure. See Allen Edwards' fourth or fifth generation "Double Soft Shackle".
The ring on the left in the example could be a hammock end instead. You'll still need tree straps.
