Yes Rick,I know. It was my fault. I have refunded the money for those that did not like it (and let them keep the hammock), and I am returning to the original design. Shipping will resume next week. Thanks to everyone for their feedback. Remember this -- "if it's not broken, don't fix it."No problem, we will be back on line next week.Cheers
Well done Neo. My guess was right!

Smart move on his part; to refund their money AND let them keep the hammock. With good customer service like that, I’m sure he’ll continue to do well.

I ordered my JH last week so I sent Tom an email asking which one was shipped and that I had hoped it was the original style and the sleeve is what sold me on his hammock.

He replied that the new version was sent and I should keep it and he was going back to the old style and would ship one at no additional cost when available. (about 1 week)

Needless to say, I'm a happy camper.........

I also ordered a JH last week. Tom gave me some options and I decide to opt out (ask for a refund). He said too keep the new model (non-sleeve) which is in route as peace offering (WOW!). He immediately refunded my Paypal acct!

Tom is a very stand up businessman and honorable guy! He's welcome at my campfire any day!

Needless to say, I'm also a VERY happy camper......... I just hope I can seam rip me a pad sleeve some how? Time will tell.

I ordered one last week also, I just sent him an email and told him I would be dissapointed to receive one without the pad sleeve.
I'll let you all know what happens.
Thanks for informing us about this.

Already heard back from Tom, he said if mine does not have the sleeve he would send me another for free. Great customer service.

    Loyal customer

I am new to hammocking but can tell you I am now a loyal Claytor customer.
I had read this is a quality product and I like the cammo to blend in with the landscape.
One of the deciding factors for me was the pad insert option.
When I learned this had been changed I emailed Tom. He responded promptly with the following.

    "Hi Nate -
I just want to assure you that if by chance you receive a Jungle Hammock without a sleeve, then I will ship to you another one with a sleeve for free. Thanks again for your polite email, and sorry for the delay in replying to you.
    Cheers,"
    TOM

Folks, IMHO, you can not ask for better customer service or integrity from a business.

I am now a firm loyal Claytor customer!

    Wonderful

I ordered a Jungle Hammock for my nephew in Wisconsin as a reward for attaining his Eagle. I placed the order on 07/13; it arrived 07/31. I checked it out this morning and there's no sleeve! If I'd have known they were making these sleeveless I'd have foregone the JH and bought him a Skeeter Beeter Pro.

I don't want to saddle my nephew with something I wouldn't consider owning. I've e-mailed Claytor this morning, but haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully that's because it's still night in Thailand?

By the way, where is the sleeve opening? I assumed it is (supposed to be) at one end. The above entries seem to indicate (1) it is open at both ends, alternatively (2) along one side. Do they come in different configurations?

Update: Another thread led me to look inside the hammock. I found a transverse zipper at the head end of the hammock inside where one inserts a pad. I had the impression that the pad was inserted externally for some reason.

I'm happy with the product and will gleefully ship it off to my nephew.

So as of 8/04 they are still shipping the "fully stiched" model?? I was about to place an order but just sent an email before I placed my order. Hopefully I get a response soon.

NOTE: All Jungle Hammocks have a sleeve for inserting a foam pad (unless specifically stated otherwise).

    Right from the website.....

That's what quite a few people thought until it arrived and there was none.
