OK....here's the skinny:
Where?
Waldo Lake, Oregon. Campground as yet to be determined. I assume it would be easier to reserve a campground for us if we had a rough estimate on the number of people attending. Waldo Lake has everything we ALL want, right at the lake. There are car camping campgrounds (handicap accessible) with showers and stores, fishing, boating (non-motorized, that is), and, best of all, there is a Wilderness Area just adjacent to the actual lake for us back-country backpackers who will be spending time hiking after the hang
And let's not forget, folks, this is the SECOND PUREST lake in the entire world! Second only to Lake Baikal in Russia. So clean you can safely drink out of it without fear of getting the dreaded "mudd-butt". And you can also see the bottom a hundred feet down! WOW!
When?
August 24, 25, 26, 2012.
Who?
Everyone is invited. The more the merrier, i say Bring the kids! Bring the Grandparents! Bring the dogs! Bring the dog's grandparents...whatever!
Will there be a raffle like last year?
Yes, but this year i am not announcing what the prizes are until the hang starts, only the companies donating. I can say that, as of right now, we have 7 companies committed to donating prizes.... and they are GOOD ONES I will add the names of the companies/individuals in a later post.
Will the prices of the raffle tickets be the same as last year, and can i buy as many as i like this year?
Yes and no. Yes, the ticket prices will be the same as last year ($20.00 per person), and no, you cannot buy more than one ticket per person. Also, you must be present to win. Tickets will go on sale at the as yet to be specified campground on August 24 at 6 pm. Raffle to be held on August 25 at 5pm. Last year we raised over $300.00 for the Hammock Forums, so this year we should DOUBLE that amount Also, this year we are splitting the raffle money between the Hammock Forums (50%) and either the charity Wounded Warrior Project or a local Boy Scout troop (50%). A final determination of which of the two charities will be announced soon.
Hey, Bigfoot...can i bring my booze with me?
Sure, if you drink responsibly and do not make a fool of yourself. All state and federal liquor rules apply. Drive responsibly and remember...this is a FAMILY EVENT.
How about some event volunteers? Whoopie sling making classes? How to make pop can alcohol stoves? Any ideas?
So.....who's all coming to this little swaray?
Rip Waverly...you out there? T-shirts are needed again, my friend
