DIY Gathered End Hammock & Whoopie Slings

Just ordered my materials for my first DIY Hammock & two 6' Whoopie Slings. Figured I start small and the work my way up. I'll pick up thread tonight at the Fabric Shop and maybe a few more needles. What color thread goes with Woodland Brown Camo? Kidding, may go with a brown or maybe an olive polyester thread.

    4 yds x 66" of 1.6oz 90x70 Denier Ripstop Nylon

If the Fabrics not correct it's not a problem I'm planning on making a tarp

That's perfect fabric for your hammock! Good luck with your project. We'll be looking for pictures.

BTW, where did you get that fabric?

YAA! Another DIYer in the ranks! Oh, you are just gonna love this journey! There is nothing better than hanging in gear you made yourself... except maybe tweaking it to perfect comfy-ness. Enjoy!

To paraphrase Henry Ford...You can get thread in any color you want, as long as it's black.

Black polyester thread is all you need for outdoor gear.

    Have fun with the project.

LOL. Just as long as ol' Henry doesn't climb out of the grave and rip it apart, it'll be my "Model A"

I'm personally a fan of "dark white"

I did finally pick up another color thread, pink, for my daughters stuff. Her setup looks like a Unicorn and a Peacock had carnal relations in the woods. Green whoopies, pink hammock, orange glowire ridgeline, light purple UQ, and pink camo tree straps. She's not exactly stealth.

    Good luck!
