Well about to start another wave of DIY and wad wondering if hem tape(sewable) would be wise to use to hold my hems before I sew, I did see Sgt Rocks vhb...but would want the hems for what I am making

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

IMO it depends on what you are talking about. Hem tape can refer to a lacey kind of trim used for finishing off the hem on skirts and dresses. I would say such a item is gilding the lily. Go ahead if you want but I don't see the benefit.
If, otoh, you are referring to fusible strips that are heat set by an iron... the jury is out. Some folks have had great success with it others tend to caution against it. I am of the latter mind set. For low stress applications they work reasonably well on their own. However, the majority of gear making applications are not low stress situations. I caution against sewing through any kind of adhesive layer regardless of what it is. The adhesives gum up the needle and can transfer that gummy crud into the working parts of the machine. IMO opinion you are better off using pins, binder clips, paper clips, some folks even use staples. The last seems excessive to me but sew you own seam.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
"Bless you child, when you set out to thread a needle don't hold the thread still and fetch the needle up to it; hold the needle still and poke the thread at it; that's the way a woman most always does, but a man always does t'other way."

it would be the iron adhesive, I was thinking using the tape to hold a section, unfortunately it would be in the high stress areas.
