So I've been living out there in a tent for the past few years (2008 I remember) this year (2012) I made the switch over to hammocks, I could go on and on about the pros and cons but you all know them already. I was going to go with the Hennessy hammock but they where on back order and the clark had a few more features I am looking for. I will admit I'm not a big fan of zippers, (thanks to that one night when it was raining like hell and my door zipper broke, just another wet night I've slelp though) so today I took the plunge and ordered my clark, in a few days ill update maybe even with some pics.
So I moved to houston cause of the work I do (machinist) and this is where I can make the big bucks (hence why I can afford a Clark, lol). I wouldn't call myself homeless although a hammock and a backpack is my home right now, I prefer to say a extreme minimalist, lol. But I can say this about hammocks, your bed is always the same, comfortable, soft and always clean. And that makes a world of difference living out there on the edge of sociaty. (High class like though)
So, here's the plan that's being fullfilled, get the high paying job (check), upgrade to high end gear, technical pack, light weight clothes (check), join the gym, mainly for the shower, but I will lift weights , someday (check), get light weight 29 inch mountain bike (I'm on a 26 right now) upgrade hammock (which I just did) then start saving mad money to get me a nice RV so I'll always have a home that I can move when ever I want, its going to be great to finally have a box to live in like normal people, lol.
So far, 80% complete, well, thanks for reading and keep it hang'n. I'm unixbocx (umm, look at that got a box right the in my name, lol). And if anyone is in the houston area maybe we can hang out sometime.
