Nano 7 question - how to keep feet in!?

I have a GT Nano 7, which I like quite a bit.. my only complaint really is that when using my sleeping bag (with UQ), I wake up about once every hour because my feet keep falling out of the hammock! Anyone else run into this? How have you fixed or improved this condition? I've tried a few different ways of hanging, angles, more or less diagonal lays, but the end result is nearly always the same.

I'm guessing you won't unless you're 5'8" or less, or you stay put once you find the sweet spot.

I'm 6'1" and I toss 'n turn and have to readjust during the night. That's even in the GTUL. Annoying.

A stretch mod (like Knotty's, etc) may help if you're not too tall.

I found with the Nano I had to string it with a tighter sag. How tall are you? I'm 5'10" and I think the bag is about the limit of its ability. I would say 6' is too tall for this hammock.

GT Nano is a very small hammock (narrow and short) so if your a longer/larger person (over 5.6ft) then you will have this problem all the time.

Buy a bigger hammock...the choices are endless, so it will be up to you to decide. We all have our favorites, so asking us will just give a million suggestions.

Do some research and conclude with your own choice.

Have fun, and hang in there
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.

I was disapointed in the GTUL for the same reason, (though i never overnighted in it) i tried taking a nap in it , same thing happened.
I think the Mod idea would work, maybe for head and foot end.
I was hoping the GTUL was going to be my "super light, fast and ready" set up.
Oh well... back to the drawing board.

I'd recommend the WB Traveler if you're taller than 5'11". I think the GTUL is perfect/better fit for those less than 6'.

So weird, I'm 6'-2 1/2", maybe 6'-3" on a low-gravity day.. I sleep like the dead in my GT UL. I've not bothered with a Nano though because I do think it's a little bit too small for the big man.

So happy after a long day on the trail...

I'm 6' 2" and the Nano 7 works fine for me. I think that's because I'm a side sleeper. But I keep flopping out of my GT UL, probably because it's a much less stretchy material.
I THOUGHT GETTING OLDER WOULD TAKE MUCH LONGER.

Thanks for all the info.. sorry that I forgot my height - that's key info here! lol I'm 5' 10 or 11 inches. When I first got the hammock in the summer, my first overnighter was with a very deflated thermarest pad and nothing on top. I slept great. The nylon of the sleeping bag is slick enough enough to where any movement makes me slide right out!

I have been looking at the WL Snipe pretty closely. It looks like it'll do the job, and it's made here in my state.

And the answer to the OP's problem is Knotty's stretch-side draw cords, accomplished with an added channel, the existing hem, or even just with a series of spaced holes.

See here, and look for several approaches inspired by Knotty.

The Nano 7 is no smaller, but much lighter and stretchier than the bed of the smaller Clark hammocks, including the North American and Tropical 2. So, size itself cannot be the cause.

Besides, OP doesn't complain about being uncomfortable, just that he'd like his feet to stay in.
