I see in the last two pics that you have a cooler strapped to the top of the kayak. Do you have any stability/top-heavy issues when paddling like that?

I've seen more than coolers on the AT... not from Thru hikers tho... I was part of a party hike that carried in 6 tiki torches, and gallon of fuel for said torches, more libations than you could shake a stick at, a fire grill, fresh vegetables and about 20 pounds of pasta salad. hehehehe We gave a couple through hikers the feast of their trip. It was grand.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Congrats - I know you were missing that boonie hat you lost. And of course, it's camo - what else would you get? We will have to get a trip list going to make sure we don't overpack and duplicate too much.

Those hikers musta thought they had died and gone to heaven. Speaking of weight! I carry cast iron dutch ovens on my canoe trips. They make some mean lasagna and awesome biscuits for breakfast. I will treat this trip to some of that good dutch oven cooking.

Man, I'm REALLY looking forward to this trip now - Dutch oven cooking. That's why I like canoeing - you can bring everything but the kitchen sink because the canoe does all the heavy lifting. I AM SO IN ON THIS TRIP!

Give me a city close to where I will be meeting you and I will take a look at the map. How long of a trip are we looking at, a weekend, a week, 12 years? Mule
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.

Hey Mule, if I take the southern route through Chicago, maybe we could car pool? Have to see how the whole thing shakes out with days and such, but
anyway to save a buck, right?
