It was a beautiful day, so we decided to get the hammocks out. I've got a patio cover with six posts and I think I've counted the ability to easily hang about 18 hammocks off them; if they're all double decker.

Here's a photo of the four hammocks I own.

Yeah, I agree with the other commenters... The backyard is the best place to test hang. You got to try your new hammy the day you got it too, which is nice. I’ve got four hammocks now and my ultra light is my favorite to sleep in, I get the best sleep in it. Good first hang!

Oh and those there are some **** fine trees you’ve got too – perfect for hanging! Get yourself some fake grass and you won’t want to go anywhere else.

Nothing wrong with hanging in the yard! You are very close to the street! Can watch the traffic while you hang! Nice.

Nothing wrong with hangin in the yard!!!! Nice setup.
I hang in the yard most every weekend, unless I make it out to the piney woods. Hope to get out to the woods this weekend to use my new stove and water filtration. I've had them for awhile, but haven't had the time to test them out yet. National forest 2 miles from the house.

The Piner's toggle in pic 2 is redeemed by the following pic of that beautiful woodpecker.

I'm trying to imagine how that Amsteel sling hangs over the hitch -- it just disappears in the pic, but it obviously held you.

Is the angle in that pic what you hung with? If so, you might try shallower to see if you like it better.

Love that woodpecker. I'll bring binocs when I ride over if you can schedule one of his visits for another time of day.

I or my my wife stay in the backyard almost every weekend. We call it gear checking but when youre gear checking your new aluminum spikes, I think its just sleeping in the hammock. No trees so I built a hammock stand.

Shug - You got that right! The first time I camped out on my own something was sniffing around my tent in the wee hours. I smacked the tent wall to get whatever it was away and well, who knew skunks were so skittish? Bad, bad night.
Tygr - The kids looked like they were enjoying it!
BruceiHi5 - Post and scrub oaks mostly with one great big pine smack dab in the middle of the front yard. Too many actually, have 13 I could get rid of and still have some big healthy trees in the yard. Grass would be sweet, very hard to grow in this sandy soil.
Eflat7 - Speaking of watching traffic, while I was setting up the hammock I saw a beautiful deep blue 70 Chevelle roll past. Had to stop and admire it!
Demostix - Yep, hung like that. As Shug said in his video, The whoopie sling goes on the knot, not the toggle(in slo-mo!). That whoopie sure did get swallowed up though! I'll try a higher pitch, thanks!
Lump - LOL, There can never be enough hammock sleeping R+D!
    Thanks guys!

Demostix - I'll tell you a quick story about "Woody". Last winter Woody crashed into our sliding glass door on a really cold day. My wife, AKA Mother Nature, ran out on the deck, scooped him up and brought him in the house and put him in a cat carrier. The poor thing's eyes were froze open and he was just about frozen stiff. I didn't hold out much hope for the little guy. A couple hours later he was hopping around in the carrier drinking and eating and none the worse for wear. My wife let him go. He's been around ever since.
