2nd Annual Central Washington Mid-Winter Hang

We went to the hang and had a great time! It was a balmy 15* overnight with an almost full moon. Great to meet some of the forum members, including: Buenos, Wa-Hangman, Mugs, BlueSkies, Hulk, nryche, mtneerman22, and others. Buenos made some great stew & promised to post his recipe.

On Saturday afternoon, a few of us climbed the surrounding hills to look down into the canyon. It was great to sit around the fire at night.

I saw the infamous DangerBird by PapaSmurf. It looks like I may have another hammock in the near future...

Posting some photos, including night shots.

Great looking area for a group hang, love the night shots....especially the fire's glow
on the tree limbs in the background.

Good times. Relaxing by the fire, watching the stars, listening to the owl's and coyotes. Oddly the distant artery fire from the US army firing range in Yakima was comforting.

I mixed up my set just to try something different. Used my Hennessy with super shelter undercover/open cell pad + Hammock Gear Incubator. Also used a Feathered Friends Puffin, with a Katabatic Gear 20* quilt. The Second night just for the heck of it i tossed the closed cell foam pad from my Big Agnes chair in there...I was toasty warm.

Awesome photos dude and glad everyone had a great time. I loved the pictures where the lights were in the hammocks taken from outside. Cool!

    Man those pics are great.

I had a great time and I will be putting a vid out in the next week or so.

Thanks to everyone who came out. It was a great gathering, though Mindwalk and Bat were missed.

I wish Mr. Bat a great trip on his restart of the AT.

Thanks to Mugs for the impromptu ladle, Blue Skies for the corn Bread, Rodwolfy and gang for benches, WA-hangman for bringing his 2 boys (you must be proud), nryche and Cane for bringing the guest, and Hulk for the beautiful pictures of his adventures!

I'm already looking forward to next winter's hang!

It looks like you guys had fun... I'm bummed I couldn't attend this year. Hopefully I'll see you guys there next year.

In the meantime, be sure to check out Hulk's Shi-Shi Beach post for an April hang and beach cleanup on the peninsula. It was amazingly beautiful last year. Hope to see a lot of you there.
